Lets try to make a cool golden skin effect!
Open a photo…i took this one http://www.vibe.com/images/celebs/jennifer_lopez.jpg call this layer Start Layer

Now duplicate this layer and call it Golden Layer.
Open Image - Adjustments- Color Balance and do the following settings:
Shadows: 32;0;-100
Midtones:0;0;0
Highlights:0;0;-32
ok

Take the Dodge Tool and lighten the areas that are already brighter to make a contrast and to obtain a golden statue look. Burn some areas to darken parts that you want.

Go to Filter - Noise - Add Noise - Check Uniform, Amount 3%.
Now gently delete the Golden Layer’s background to remain the initial background.

Let’s turn this man into a beautiful woman.
This is the photo that we will retouch.

Copy paste it into Photoshop.
Duplicate the layer and name it Colin.
Lets start!
The beard is not ok it has to go away….Take the Spot Healing Brush Tool and gentle retouch the beard from the chin and neck.
Now do the same to the rest of the skin to get rid of the wrinkles and other skin imperfection.
Blur the skin….the chin steel doesn’t look ok…I took with Eyedropper Tool a color from the skin and start painting the skin with Brush Tool( 20 % Opacity and 20 % Flow)….for this job you will need a tablet if your hand is shaking….i’ve used only the mouse.
Your photo should look like this

Select the eyebrows(lasso tool) and place(cut paste) them in another layer and hide them. Select the eyes one by one and Edit - Transform - Scale (W 120% and H 130 %)
Cover with skin the empty areas.

Now we have to change the shape of the face and neck to be more feminine. Filter - Liquify - Forward Warp Tool -

Now duplicate the lower lip, flip vertical and transform it to look like an upper lip. Now merge the two layers. Adjust more the shape of the mouth with Liquify and paint it for a real look. Use the Burn tool for the shape of the mouth to give it contrast.

Take the Smudge Tool and define the eyes . It look just like a doll
Now work with Eyebrows layer…delete one eyebrow and work only with one…give it a girl shape. With Burn Tool 1 px and 70 % opacity make real hair on the eyebrow. Duplicate this layer and flip it horizontaly …now you have 2 eyebrows.

Wow it looks like a doll and i dont like it very much…. lets see what we can do to improve it:
1. the mouth is not very real - paint the lips to look more real….without a tablet this is very difficult to do. Create a new layer above and gentle paint some light areas on the lips…Go to Liquify again and work the lips to look a little bit smaller

2. The nose - Liquify and make the nose smaller, thinner

3. The eyes are tooo big - Liquify them and make it smaller. Work not only with the eye shape but with the iris shape too.

4. The head - Liquify and make it smaller horizontal and vertical with a Forward Warp Tool Brush size 300. Work with the forehead also and make it round where the skin meets the hair.

5. Delete the eyebrows are horrible….I too from this photo http://www.anewlegend.com/woman_face.jpg the eyebrows and for eyelashes use the Smudge Tool to look real.

You need to crop, scale both images, softly delete the unnecessary areas…adjust te color and fit in the right place. We hope this time it looks more real.

Burn the areas that you like to give contrast to the photo.; use expossure 15 %.

Merge all the layer and go to Image - Adjustments - Curves and give the photo a real look especially for the skin.
Burn, Liquify, Blur, Brush all the areas that you consider necessary.

Lessons learned from this tutorial:

1. Turning a man into a woman is not an easy task.
2. You can easy obtain a doll instead of an woman.
3. try not to exagerate with feminine features such as big eyes, big mouth, big eyelashes.
4. Try to give the photo a real look, real colors
5. Use a table for this tutorial it is easier.
6. Choose another man not Colin Farrell he is very hard to transform it into a woman.

Today i will turn a photo of a girl into a Mythological Snail.
I’ve participated to a photoshop contest with this piece. The initial image was this

Hello friends!
Today we will try to make a nice photo effect from a bengal tiger picture.
Here is our photo:

1. Ok name this layer with the tiger Background Tiger.

2. Duplicate this layer and call it BlackWhite Tiger. Desaturate this layer

3. Duplicate BlackWhite Tiger and call it Effect Tiger. Now choose Foreground color black and Background color a blue turquoise. Go to Filter - Sketch - Photocopy. Now go to Blending options and choose Overlay.

4. We have a blue photo result but we need a bicolor one so select BlackWhite Tiger Layer and easy delete with Eraser Tool (100%) the background of the tiger…and you will see the green grass from the first layer. Also delete the eyes iris.

5. Go to Background Tiger Layer and color with Brush Tool (40%) the grass with a bright green. Color also the eyes.

Now merge the 3 layers. With Burn Tool, burn the areas that you like…the shape of the tiger for example to give a conttrast to the photo.

Go to Filter - Texture - Texturizer(texture canvas) …i put this effect twice…to look line a canvas painting.

And here is the result!

Of course if u dont like blue and green u can choose whatever color/animal u like…..if you make something nice put a comment with a link to your photo

Hello! Today i want to make a Manga Cartoon Girl.

This is the starting photo.

First i want to hide the necklace, eyebrows, nose and mouth with Clone Stamp Tool and with Blur Tool.
With Brush Tool draw a little nose, a mouth and eyebrows. Color the mouth with white. The line for the Brush Tool will be a dark color.
Be carefull to adjust the opacity to realize a better result.

Now you have to work with the eyes….Go to Filter - Liquify - and make the eyes bigger….closer to the shape of a manga girl eyes…hide whatever is necesary. Now create to dark brown circles and place it in the eye area…draw 2 white circles and place it also in the eye area…like in the picture above.

Take the Burn Tool and darken the hair areas and the shape of the face.

Now merge all the layers and call the new layer Back Layer.

We can now duplicate this layer and call it Effect.
Set the background color orange and the foreground color dark brown. Go to Filter - Sketch - Photocopy and Detail 2 and Darkness 25 OK.
Go to Blending Options and choose Overlay 100%.

This is the effect

Now in this Effect Layer choose a yellow orange color and brighten the areas that you want….and hide some areas..playing with opacity.

Go to Back Layer now and start painting. Choose a foreground color for the hair(i choose a tone of orange) and opacity 50 % and paint easily the hair. With Burn Tool(40%) darken the painted areas. Color the eyes with blue and that is it!

Manga Girl

Hi everybody!

Lets try today to do an elf of the forest from a beautiful girl.
This is the starting photo

Ok, now go to Image - Adjustment - Color Balance and give the photo a green look.
Shadows(0;91;35), Midtones(0;69;36), Highlights(0;55;20)

It is time to add some ears…as you can see in this photo the ears are not visible….fin a photo with a girl with ears….delete the head between the ears and scale the image…..place the ears in the right place. Now make de ears look like they belong to this girl….make the same green color.
Now you can merge the 2 layers. Burn the areas near the eras to fit to the hair.
Now go to Filter - Liquify and make the eras longer with Forward Warp Tool….Use the same tool to make the lips bigger…Find a white-green color and with the Brush Tool(opacity 22%) easy color the mouth.

Now take the Burn Tool (brush 15, exposure 50%) and star burning the hair, the eyebrows, the eyes, hair shape….until you obtain a nice contrast. Hide the earrings with Clone Stamp Tool or another method that you know….burn again and blur to look real…Hide the necklace with the same method.

Now your photo looks like this

OK - NOW IT BEGINS THE SECON PART
Duplicate this layer an name it Effect layer.
We will now work only with effect layer.
Set Background color brite orange and Foreground color dark green.
Go to Filter - Sketch - Photocopy
Now go to Blending options of this layer and choose Overlay 100%.

Do you like this effect? You can go even depper and start painting….Choose a color closer to the foregroud color and paint this layer the parts that you want to hide…or choose a light tone of orange to highlight cheeks, shoulders, etc….for contrast.

What is your favorite book??
My favorite book is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, so today i will try to create a cover for this book.

First i have to determin the style of the book: lets say it is a romantic novel with a lot of comic accents…

First i will have to see some of the covers that have been made for the book and movie, to be sure i dont do the same….and of course it is useful also for inspiration.

I choose this image from an older movie

And i will Crop Elizabeth image. I will hide Mr. Darcy’s hair with Clone Stamp Tool(S) and than with Spot Healing Brush Tool(J). Use the Blur Tool to this area for a better result.

Lets play with colors; open the Image - Adjustment - Color Balance and do the following settings :
Shadows (Color Levels -15;1;-12)
Midtones(Color Levels -13;8;-22)
Highlights(Color Levels 2;1;-17) OK

With Burn Tool darken parts of the hair that already have dark color to make a bigger contrast.

Now duplicate the first layer; set foreground color a dark brown and go to Filter - Sketch - Photocopy (Detail 2 and Darkness 32)
Now you have something like that:

Now set foreground color white and with Brush Tool and opacity 50% hide partial the little points from the skin, background, hair,neck etc.Whiten the mouth area because the mouth has to be natural.
With 26% Blur Tool - blur the second layer on backgroud,hair,skin,etc.

Ok now take this picture of Mr.Darcy

and do all the steps that you have done to Elizabeth photo.
Copy parts of Elizabeth background and add it to Mr. Darcy’s photo so that it looks from the same picture….blur to look more real
Copy a rose photo and change the Color Balance to a yellow tone. Now duplicate, filter-photocopy and change Blending Option to Color Burn. Now place the rose into Elizabeth hair to look more romantic.
The rose i’ve used is this

Insert a new layer and name it Title. Draw a white square and in this square place the title of the Book and the author:
Lucinda Sans Typewriter , Regular, 18 pt for the author , color orange.
BankGothic Md BT , Regular, 20 pt for the title, scale the hight and make it dark green.
Now merge the 3 layers: white square, title and author….modify the shape of the square like in the picture above and for this layer go to Blending Options and Check Drop Shadow.

And for the final touch with Burn Tool, adjust the Title and the Author giving a little inner shadows.

Today i want to play with Blending Options and see what is the result!
First layer is the photo of a boy:

Duplicate the first layer and go to Filter - Sketch - Photocopy and choose Detail 3 and Darkness 26. By the way set the foreground color a dark tone closer to black.

Now go to Blending Options of this layer (right click on the layer name)
and choose:

1. Overlay

2.Darken

3. Soft Light

You can try all the effects in this Blending Options List to see which you like best….

Hello everybody! Today i want to transform an 40 years old woman with no makeup into a young beautiful woman.
I want to say that i dindn’t used parts from other photos….
This is the starting image:

Pick Spot Healing Brush Tool from the left toolbar and easy remove the glasses. Now cover the right eyebrow with skin (Clone Stamp Tool ) and than copy/paste the left eyebrow(Flip horizontaly) and place it in the right side of the photo….Merge the two layers (photo layer and eyebrow layer).

Ok, now use Spot Healing Brush Tool to hide all the imperfections of the skin, wrinkles, etc from the face and neck (a wrinkled neck reveals your true age).

Now lets do a nose job. Pick Filter - Liquify….arange the nose to be small and equal with Forward Warp Tool from Liquify filter….You can also use this tool to make her eyes a little bigger

Now make her eyebrows thiner with the same tool.
It is time to give a little volume to the mouth. Pick the same Filter - Liquify and lift the upper lip….We will obtain a huge lower lip…but we will fix that

Use the Spot Healing Brush Tool to modify the skin …it will look more beautiful without that nasty glossiness. Use than the Blur tool also for the skin and nose

Modify the mouth once more, add a little makeup, use Brush tool(30%) with a soft red to give color to the mouth and cheeks…ajust the hair
and voila the result:

Today i will try to retouch an ugly Britney Spears photo with a new beautifull Britney.

Lets start right now! The image is this one

Image-Adjustments-Color balance Shadows (15 Red), Midtones (24 Red 22 Yellow), Highlights (16 Red 20 Yellow).
Use the Spot Healing Brush Tool to heal the wrinkles from the neck, face, etc….You have to be careful to look real …After all this retouch is done use the Blur tool (strenght 40 % or less) to soften the skin. You have to blur first the skin, than the nose; for the mouth use 15 % strenght Blur.

For a brighter skin i preffer to paint it with Brush Tool with a light tone of rose…opacity 15 % and than use also Image - Adjustments - Brightness/Contrast (brightness 20)
Now pick Filter - Liquify and with the Forward Warp Tool easyly lift the eyebrows and the corner of the eye…and also make the eyes a little bigger.

Put a little makeup with Brush Tool.
Select the eyes and put some color…i’ve used green but you can play with other tones.

Select the hair and from Color balance put a little red accents; cover parts of the hair with Clone Stamp Tool and with Burn Tool accentuate the color for a better look.

Whiten the teeth, color the mouth with a red-orange (Brush Tool 45 % opacity) and with a color from the same palette paint the cheeks(opacity 15 %)…
For the background clone the soft blue color….

The result shoul be something like this
